Thanks to the Centre Pieces Quilt Guild of Boalsburg, PA From the Centre Daily Times, November 13, 2012 (See link below) When State College resident Betty Knouse pledged to sew 500 Christmas stockings for military personnel this summer, that got Claire Amick thinking. Both belong to the local Centre Pieces Quilt Guild. Amick, of Boalsburg, was so impressed by Knouse’s enthusiasm she challenged guild members to match her. The result: nearly 1400 Christmas stockings were completed and mailed to Operation Shoebox in November 2012.
